Review: Organic Virgin Coconut Oil by Coconoil

Who doesn't love Coconut Oil these days?

I'm currently using Organic Virgin Coconut Oil from Coconoil* and it's an absolute staple in my house - I use it for everything including, but not limited to, the regular beauty multi-tasking, cooking, baking, treat for the cats to prevent the build up of hairballs and to give them a beautifully glossy coats, treat athletes foot (sorry), help with skin discolouration, stings, bites and deodorant.

The brand was set up after the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami as a way to help rebuild the livelihoods of Sri Lankan farmers and today helps keep over 200 Sri Lankans in employment. The oil is also ‘picked, packed and pressed’ at source, which improves its quality and its carbon footprint and also means more money goes to the locals who help grow and process the coconuts.

The brand has also just started a new project with 200 smallholders from five villages in Ghana, and hope throughout 2015 they can replicate some of the success they have seen in Sri Lanka and help to create new jobs and income streams for those involved.

This oil is Soil Association approved Organic and cold pressed, everything I look for when picking my coconut oil. The size I have is 280g which costs £5.49 which I think is great value but Coconoil also have great multi-buy offers too with savings up to 25%.

What are you waiting for - go check them out!
