Let's Give Blogging A Go!

Swindon, UK
I have always had a good skincare routine. Since my early teens, I have been fascinated by the different products available on the market and what they claim to do - a face lift here, a nip/tuck there. Walking into The Body Shop and Boots would give me an instant thrill, all of those neatly lined up bottles with their eye catching colours and labels all ready for me to try out and experiment. As I grew older I started to look at the ingredients used in the things I was using on a daily basis. The first thing I did was to stop using anything that was tested on animals. Things grew from there really...

Over the last couple of years I have become more careful about what skin and body care products I use. A combination of media scaremongering and research brought me to some facts about ingredients used in beauty that I wasn't sure I was ready to face (but boy was I glad I did).

Parabens, synthetic fragrances, silicones, phthalates, mineral oil and propylene glycol are all linked, in one way or another, to have a negative impact on human, animal and the planet's health. It gets a bit scary after a while and the more I read, the more worried I became.

Natural and organic skincare have become my go-to when buying. Neal's Yard Remedies is, without doubt, my favourite brand but sometimes my pocket doesn't stretch that far so I have a few other good quality brands up my sleeve!

So I have decided to keep a record of those brands and products that I use; what I liked and what I didn't. I'll review my favourite products first and see how I get on!

I'm looking forward (and pretty nervous) to be sharing this with you.
I wonder, what triggered your change to organic, natural skincare?
