Review: Mukti Organics Cleanser, Toner, Moisturiser

Mukti (pronounced mooktee) Organics is an Australian organic skincare brand which was founded in 2000.
"For the past few years Mukti has meticulously researched, developed and revised the formulations across our skincare range. She has added additional bioactive native Australian ingredients to increase the potency and viability of the formulas. By improving our formulas, we are enhancing the efficacy of the products to provide maximum benefit and results.
Indigenous Australians have been using native plants and their extracts for thousands of years. Aboriginal women sustainably harvest the native plant extracts as a communal incentive. Our supplier purchases them under a fair trade agreement."
I was exited to have an opportunity to try some of their products and after discussing my skin type, was sent the following.
The Balancing Foaming Cleanser* is by far my favourite of the three products that I was sent.
"A gentle foaming gel that effectively assists with balancing sebaceous activity without depleting the skin of its natural oils. Deeply cleanses the skin removing impurities, perspiration, makeup and impurities."
I would say that it looks more like a runny jelly than a gel and it has quite a strong scent to it but I couldn't place what it was. Perhaps it was the Flame Tree, the Bladderwrack or the Mountain Pepper Leaf... to be honest, it could have been any of these unusual and new to me ingredients.
A couple of pumps of the gel, add a dash of water and create a... well I wouldn't even really say it foams BUT it sort of lathers. I don't feel like I'm selling this very well but I have to say this is a wonderful cleanser. My skin is oily/combo and this cleanses beautifully and actually feels like it's working to hydrate it and not just strip it off. My skin feels fresh and balanced - exactly what it says it should.

Unfortunately the Rose Blossom Hydrating Mist Toner* was a bit of a duff one for me, I'm afraid. I just felt like it didn't really do anything one way or another. It certainly didn't do anything bad, no skin upsets but at the same time I don't feel like it added or improved my skin either.
On the plus side, it smells lovely so I mostly used it as a body spray.

Lastly, the Balancing Moisturiser* made with some more wonderfully interesting ingredients, this time Kakadu Plum, Silky Oil Grass, Wild Rosella.
"Contains a therapeutic blend of oils that offer protection and hydration without leaving the skin with an oily residue. Restores vitality so that skin can function in a balanced manner. Has a calming and soothing effect on sebaceous activity and encourages the natural hydration of upper skin layers."
The moisturiser is fairly light and you don't need very much of it so I feel the bottle will last a good amount of time. I think it works well to balance my skin but I'm not sure how it'll fare now we're fast approaching Winter at balancing AND keeping me moisturised.

I would highly recommend the Balancing Foaming Cleanser but the toner and moisturiser sadly just weren't for me.

  2. I've not really seen much from this brand but there seems to be a lot of Australian green beauty brands! I like the sound of the cleanser because of the unusual ingredients!
