Viridian Nutrition is a brand that I love for supplements. I've been taking their High-Five Multivitamin & Mineral tablets for years and buy their raw organic Coconut Oil too.
More recently, I've been using their Ultimate Beauty Oil and Ultimate Beauty Complex thanks to their contribution to the Reading Green Beauty Meet up.
The lovely team at Viridian then sent me one of their more recent additions to the supplements range, Qi-Ribose*.
This supplement comes in powered form and easily dissolves in water or juice. Qi-Ribose is a blend of 4 ingredients -
Ribose - to improve energy
Magnesium - to reduce tiredness and fatigue
Acetyl-l-carnitine - helps the body produce energy
Malic Acid - stimulates metabolism and increases energy
You may have noticed a common theme here... energy!
The advice is to take one heaped teaspoon 1-2 times daily and I've been taking it just once a day. I've been using this frequently for a couple of months now (and consequently am out)- and try to have it when my energy levels drop.
When I'm at work this could be any time between 11am-3pm depending on what is in my diary for that day but on the weekends, I'll have it at about 3pm.
To begin with, I was unsure it was making a difference and just sort of kept taking it for the purpose of the review but after about 4 weeks I started to realise that I was able to do more later on into the afternoon/evening.
I was more alert and clear headed, my body responded better to exercise as I recovered quicker and generally felt better for taking it.
At £24.95 for a 180g jar, the cost may be enough to turn some away and to be honest I'm not sure it would be one that I would have bought myself. I'm glad I was able to give it a try though, especially over past few months when its been cold, dark and miserable as I tend to suffer with fatigue more during this time and this really did help.
You can purchase Qi-Ribose from the Viridian Nutrition website here.
What do you think? Would you give this a try yourself?

Sounds interesting! Definitely one to consider in the winter I think with colder and darker days when you feel like tucking up in bed instead of going to the gym or doing work haha! x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Made me much more alert in the afternoon so I felt like I was more active this Winter than I might otherwise have been. x
DeleteI tried this and I thought it worked really well, but yes it is a bit to shell out on... but possibly worth it... hmm, up to the individual I guess. Lovely review,

I found it hard to say if I would buy again at this point - I guess I'll see how I am feeling for a few weeks not using it! haha x
DeleteI could do with an energy boost I definitely have the winter blues, I'm not very good with powder supplements no matter how much I try hiding them in a drink I can still taste them lol :D
ReplyDeleteI'm not too good with powders either so just have to chug it haha!
DeleteSounds like a good buy for winter, I often find myself more tired at this time of year too x
ReplyDeleteI think I'll try again next Winter and see how I get on. Let me know if you do try it! x
DeleteI also take multi vitamins and mineral tablets daily in form of Green supplements to reduce my tiredness, and to improve my energy. Great to know about Qi-Ribose supplement here. I will try this supplements too. Well, I love to take green supplements as they don’t show any side effect.
