Hello! This is a welcome back for me to blogging, I hope to be posting a bit more regularly now. I'm trying not to put too much pressure on myself with a schedule, but I hope to be posting a couple of times a month from now on. My blogging skills are a bit rusty, so bear with me as I get back into the swing of things!
I'm still part of the LoveLula Blogger Program, although for a couple of months I took a break as I knew I wasn't going to be able to spend the time reviewing the products, but also because I found that I had a bit of a stash that I wanted to work through before ordering any more.
So here I am, with mini reviews of the three items I picked during April.
Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Face Mask - I've heard so much about this brand, and this mask in particular that I figured I'd give it a whirl. It suggests applying a thick layer of the mask over the face for 15 minutes every day, which for me is just not possible. I aim for once a week a the moment and while I may not be getting the full effect, I find that after use my skin is brighter, softer, and clearer. It helps with the occasional break out, thanks to the manuka antibacterial and antifungal properties.
I can see why it was all the rage a couple of years ago!
John Masters Organic Hair Spray - My hair has always been a bit wild but since falling pregnant and now while I breastfeed, its really gone crazy. Partly thanks to new growth I guess, I find that my hair tends to stick up and create a halo of frizz that I need to tame. Enter John Masters hair spray! It comes in a pump spray bottle which dispenses a good amount of the spray over my head. I'm still a bit timid when using it as I worry I'll end up with crispy, lego hair but I'm really impressed at how it keeps those flyaways in check. I very rarely need the holding power of a hair spray for an up-do, so I can't comment on how it works for that but for day to day it gets the thumbs up from me. One down side about this it that the pump does get clogged every now and then so I have to wash the pump, which isn't ideal and for the price I think is a real let down.
Tabitha James Kraan Compact Dry Shampoo for Dark Hair - A good dry shampoo is hard to come by. Back in the day I used Batiste on a regular basis, and I'll be honest and say that I really miss it. I thought I'd give this one from Tabitha James Kraan a go specifically because of the applicator - it is a pump dispenser - which I thought would be great as I get powder everywhere. The dry shampoo itself is pretty good, I get a bit of volume from it and a lovely scent too. The big downside was the pump. It puffed out the teeniest, tiniest amount of powder onto the hair. For a while, I wasn't sure it was dispensing anything and had to spray it into an empty teacup to see if anything was coming out. I ended up unscrewing everything, applying the powder by shaking it out, and screwing it all back together again. Not idea when you're in a rush. However since tinkering with the packaging, more powder does come out now so maybe it just needed playing with. Ending on a possitive, the fact that the powder is already tinted with a dark shade means that there is no more grey "you missed a spot" areas! Huge bonus.
Do you have any dry shampoo recommendations for me?

Yay so glad you see you back, hope the little one is doing well! The pump for the TJK dry shampoo for me was a bit pants too. I couldn't get any out for sooooooo long! I find now that if I tip it upside down quickly then spray, then it comes out better. I really like the Aura mask from Antipodes, especially if I have any redness on my cheeks it's really soothing!
