Review: Acorelle Essential Oil Blends

My pick for this months My Pure post are two essential oil blends from French brand Acorelle.

I have a hot stone which I use to fragrance my living room and while I would usually blend my own scents with the essential oils I own, I thought I would give a couple of pre-blended oils a go and see how they compare.

My Pure have three Acorelle blends for sale, Soothing, Energising and Balancing. I picked up Energising* and Balancing* as I don't usually go for soothing blends for my living room.

Acorelle's Energising* blend RRP £12 for 5ml is a vibrant blend of eucalyptus, mint and lime and it is certainly an energising scent!
Eucalyptus is great for helping to clear respiratory conditions - colds, flu, bronchitis, coughing and sinus issues to name a few. Mint also works well for these conditions, in addition to aiding the relief of headaches, nausea and asthma. Lime really brings the eucalyptus and mint together to pack a punch to the senses. Lime adds restorative properties to the mix that round off the energising effect.

I've been using it when cleaning the house to purify the rooms but also love to use it when I'm feeling a bit lazy and need a bit of a mental kick in the bum to get me going again. I use about 10-15 drops on my hot stone and find this lasts a good few hours.

The Balancing blend* RRP £12 for 5ml main players are lavender and bergamot.
Lavender, as we know, is a brilliant soothing and calming oil which really helps to relieve tension, depression, panic and exhaustion. It is also brilliant for headaches and insomnia.
Bergamot works alongside the lavender to boost the benefits for stress, tension and colds & flu.

I've used it a few times over the last few weeks during the evenings and I'm not as keen on this blend. I found it to be overpowering, even when reducing the amount used (5-7 drops instead of 10-15). This blend has quite a few other essential oils - mandarin, clementine, geranium and ylang ylang. I think it is just a few too many to my personal taste.

Thanks again to My Pure for sending me these two to review.

Which oils do you blend with to fragrance rooms?

  1. I absolutely love burning essential oils! I tend to use a traditional oil burner but this hot stone looks worth trying :) x

    1. I used to use an oil burner, and still do sometimes, but found that I was going through tea-lights a bit quickly haha x

    1. Its an Aroma Stone that I picked up from Neal's Yard Remedies about a year ago. Its electric and just plugs into the wall. I love it! Was about £25 I think but I can't find it on the website anymore x
